Math Nazi's

You are betting at 50% chance and you've just had 10 rolls in a row below 1.98x, you are trying to decide should I go low or high.

The odds of finding a 11 roll continuous streak below a target multiplier of 1.98x are 2048 to 1 against. The odds of hitting a target above or below 1.98x in the next round are 50/50.

Would you bet High or Low to win the next round? and why?

All rolls are independent, it doesn't matter which you choose.

You still have to choose ;-)

i'd rudimentarily switch; like i always do, might go high, might go low -- don't care that i've had x previous bets.

i would be like wtf 1.98x? how tf did this happen? and raise it to at least 3300x and then probably switch sides. why? cuz eff that seed. thats why. or maybe im just talking about my current seed because i would kill it if it was alive. lol

but really i would just stay my course i like to find the number before i switch because you could switch right into another 11 reds on the other side. so why do that do your self? wait for your side to pling then switch sides if you feel the desire to.

Of course I would go HIGH, bound to be a winner, right ? (gamblersfallacy) ✅💯

Doesnt really matter which side you choose, all rolls being independent, the roll result will be either HIGH or LOW, 1 or the other 😂

knowing all roles are independant, knowing that the odds are 50/50, knowing that the odds finding an 11 role streak under 1.98x are 2048 to 1,

we still must make a choice, right so how do we decide?

All flips of the coin are independent, but you're still gonna be hard pressed to pull off 50 heads in a row.. any streak is always bound to break

but doesn't have too break, which is where so many people tilt lol

I guess after knowing all of these things, we choose by using our "gut" feeling, roll and hope luck is with us 😃

The odds you explained are innacurate , because the 2048 to 1 odds apply if I'd start my roll now , and bet on getting 11 reds in a row . That said , on the 10th red , the odds of hitting an 11th red are 50 % , on the 1st roll the odds of hitting 11 reds are 2048 to 1 . so in math nazi logic , odds are the same in both cases.

this is what most people fail at understanding for sure XD though there is nothing actually wrong with betting on a streak breaking, it's like a farmer not preparing for a droubt 'cos 'the rain has to come some time'

We should sticky posts like this and always refer people to them....

maybe a well thought out article on it but if i am honest, an article describing all the pit falls and intracies of randomness, the quagmire of human psychology in the face of extreme numbers; would be lost on most the target audience of such a article.
