XLM deposit mistakes are too easy

It’s too easy to make a mistake depositing with XLM, especially for a first timer who sees “memo” and thinks that’s like a memo line on a check where you fill out what it’s for, or leave it blank if you want to.

I sent $10 in XLM about 10 hours ago, but I didn’t put in the fk memo so the money didn’t get credited to my account. It’s not right that it can get sent to you, but if the memo isnt filled out correctly (BTW, that note on deposit window about making sure the memo is right is overshadowed by the bright yellow highlighted message about transaction fees at the bottom) you can’t credit it to my account and it takes this long to sort out.

the problem is with xlm you need a certan amount of balance too activate the address; not sure how much this is but too populate every users dd address + you can randomly generate new ones, it's too much too keep track of.

xrp operates in the same way and requires destination tag to sub divide the main address.

it's pretty common practise; and just something too learn, i know crypto currency isn't always as easy as it should be but really when handling money you should read carefully the instructions and not assume every currency is the same, though i understand it's a easy mistake to make.

Thank you Bobstone for explaining the logic behind this annoying "memo".

But you are not entirely correct here, even though it is indeed very easy to make deposit without memo, DuckDice will still credit this deposit to your balance.

So if you have made a deposit and forgot tag/memo, you need to contact anyone in the live chat. The only thing, if it is your first deposit, you need to make one more minimum deposit but with correct memo from the same address, to verify that previous deposit was also made by you.
